KUOI-AM 660Kc operated at the bottom end of the dial for maximum coverage under Part 15 of the FCC Rules and Regulations. These were the same incidental noise and interference rules that apply to interference from microwave ovens and PCs. The studios were on the second floor of the Student Union Building. The station was staffed entirely by students from the campus as a whole. The station was widely listened to by the student body. Popular DJs often went to work for one of the commercial stations in Moscow or Pullman. Click on one of the buttons above to see what KUOI looked like in the 60's.
